Just heard back from the insurance company. They wanted us to have a good holiday and said the mast will be fully covered.
We have an estimate from Mike Quill for an all new aluminum mast and we are waiting on a quote for the carbon mast.
We'll update once we have final approval and delivery estimates. We were given the Ok to move on, so we are going to motor the rest of the way to Myrtle Beach. We picked up a 4KW generator so we can run our 30 Amp/72VDC charger. That will allow us to go 4 knots without drawing battery power.
Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Fantastic!! Boat US has the best Insurance. You have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Norbert
ReplyDeleteGood news, motoring to warmer weather isn't alll bad
ReplyDeleteThings can be replaced, good insurance makes that a little easier. People can't be replaced, good fellowship can ensure that you take care of each other. We hope your recovery from this incident is expeditious.
ReplyDeleteSo there is a rainbow around the bend. Its a shame that you will have to finish your trip under power, but no one got hurt, and the boat will be a fixed. What marina will you keep the boat at then you get here? We are at Osprey marina, love it, so planning on staying a while. Hope to see you guys again when you get in.
ReplyDelete"We may walk, run, stumble, drive, or Sail, but let us never lose sight of the reason for the Journey, or miss a chance to see a Rainbow on the way." Norbert
ReplyDeleteGood news guys! We're glad to hear it. We're heading for Hilton Head in the morning, and then probably offshore to land somewhere in Florida. Take care...
